Ridge gourd dosa is an instant, wholesome and delicious dosa ideal for super-quick weekday dinner. This is a keeper recipe to include nutritious ridge gourd in your weekly menu. The dosa doesn't show even a slight hint of vegetable added to it. Together with coconut chutney, it tastes mild and fresh making it very kid-friendly too.
Ingredients
1 cup idli rice
1/2 cup split moong dal / whole green gram
2 cup chopped ridge gourd (with skin)
1 ts jeera
1 ts whole pepper
1 green chilli
Small piece of ginger
Preparation
- Soak idli rice and moong dal/ green gram together for a minimum of 1-2 hours
- Grind the soaked rice and dal in a mixer grinder together with chopped ridge gourd, jeera, pepper, green chilli and ginger
- Add needed salt
Ridge gourd dosa batter is ready and can be used instantly for making thin crispy dosas.
