I am beginning to like more of mushrooms these days. And
this is yet another mushroom dish which has become our favorite. Goes very well
with roti and any kind of rice varieties.
Ingredients
2 cups cleaned and chopped mushrooms
1 medium sized onion thinly sliced
1 medium sized tomato
1 ts jeera
1 ts ginger garlic paste
3 ts thick yoghurt
¼ ts turmeric powder, 1 ts coriander powder, 1 ½ ts chilli
powder, ½ ts cumin powder, ¼ ts garam masala, 1 ts pepper powder, ¾ ts kuzhambu
podi
Handful of chopped cilantro
Preparation
Heat oil in a flat bottomed pan. Once hot, add jeera. Add
thinly sliced onion and fry till they turn translucent. Add ginger garlic paste
and fry for a while. Next add the tomato puree and fry until it is completely
cooked and oil oozes out from the sides. Add the yoghurt and keep cooking it
until water from them has completely evaporated. Now add the chopped mushrooms
and give a good toss. Add all the masala powder mentioned above. Mix everything
well. Add enough water and let it cook in medium flame until the gravy is
thickened. Garnish with coriander leaves.
