A very tasty chicken treat with a
different twist using coriander, mint and curry leaves for the masala.
Ingredients
250 g chicken breast
cut into
bite size pieces
1 medium sized onion thinly
sliced
4 ts thick yoghurt
½ ts turmeric powder
1 ts
coriander powder
For the masala paste
Handul of mint leaves, coriander
leaves and curry leaves (adjust amount according to preference)
4 green chillies
2 cloves
1 ts jeera
1 ts fennel seed
1 ts peppercorn
1 ts ginger garlic paste
Preparation
Grind all the ingredients listed
above into a smooth paste with very little water.
Pressure cook the chicken pieces with
salt, turmeric powder and just enough water until they are 3/4th
done and keep them aside.
Heat oil in a non stick wide pan.
Once hot add onion and sauté them till they turn slight brownish. Add turmeric
powder and coriander powder. Immediately afterwards add the ground masala
paste. Fry them in medium flame for about 5 minutes until the raw smell of the
ground paste has gone. Next add the yoghurt, mix and fry for 3 more minutes
until water from yoghurt has evaporated and it is well combined with the
masala. Now add the chicken pieces. Combine everything well. Keep the pan
covered in low flame and cook for about 10 minutes until the chicken is
completely cooked and all the flavors of the masala are incorporated well into
the chicken.
Accompany it with rice or roti.
It would taste great with biryani or pulao too!
