One pot chana masala prepared in a pressure cooker. Also without any tomatoes. This is a light curry which pairs very well with roti and puri.

Ingredients
1 cup chana ( soaked overnight)
1 medium sized onion
1 ts freshly grated ginger garlic
2 tbs freshly dry roasted & powdered coriander seed, cumin seed, fennel seed
1/4 ts turmeric powder
1 ts chilli flakes
1 ts chana masala
1 tea bag

Preparation

Heat little oil in a pressure cooker. Add thinly sliced onions and cook until translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Add turmeric powder. Add powdered coriander seed, cumin seed and fennel seed powder. Also add in the chilli flakes. Give a quick toss. Add soaked chana, chana masala , tea bag and enough salt. Pressure cook for one whistle in high and for 3 whistles in simmer. The chana should be cooked real soft. Discard the tea bag. Mash some chana with the ladle along the sides of the vessel. The mashed chana will help thicken the curry.
