Healthy and flavourful dalia and vegetable khichdi. Can be had as such with just a pickle and papad. Also goes well with any  veg / non-veg curries. A very kid-friendly recipe too.

Dalia moong dal khichdi with potato fry and kale poriyal
Ingredients
3/4 cup dalia / broken wheat / samba godumai
1/4 cup moong dal
4 cups of water
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas)
1 ts cumin seed
1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
1 medium sized tomato (chopped)
1 ts ginger garlic paste
Handful of mint leaves (very finely chopped)
2 slit green chillies
1/4 ts turmeric powder
Salt and oil as per need

Preparation

Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seed and allow to sizzle. Next add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, slit green chillies, chopped mint leaves and turmeric powder. Toss for a minute. Next add chopped tomato and needed salt. Cook till tomatoes become mushy. Next add the chopped vegetables. Toss for a minute. Add washed and drained dalia and moong dal. Then add 4 cups of water. Partly cover the cooker lid and allow to boil. Then close the lid completely. Allow 1 whistle in medium flame. Switch off stove. Allow all air to be released by itself.

Best when served hot.
