Flavorful Aloo Methi

It’s a very common dish found in most restaurants and also done in most homes. Aloo methi is a winning combo. It surely wont deceive you. In whatever way you do, it comes out good. The unique bitter taste of methi together with the soft potato is a lovely combo. Each may have their own way of preparing this dish. I usually make this with the bare minimum of spices yet comes out very fragnant.

Ingredients

2 small potato cubed
1 bunch of fresh methi leaf/ ½ pack of frozen methi
1 medium sized onion
1 ts cumin seed
¼ ts hing
4-5 garlic pods
¼ ts turmeric powder, ¾ ts chilli powder, 1 ts coriander powder

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. After they crackle add onion. Fry them until they are slightly brownish. Add chopped/ grated garlic and hing. Fry for few seconds. Add turmeric powder. Next add boiled potato and toss well. Add chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Toss and mix well until everything is incorporated well into the potato. After a min add chopped methi leaves. Mix well and keep the pan covered in medium flame for 2 min.

Flavorful and fragnant Aloo Methi is ready to be relished. Best with roti and will be equally good with rice too.
