Zucchini Dal

Ingredients
1 cup toor dal/ any dal of your choice
1 big zucchini
1 medium sized onion and tomato
1 ts ginger garlic paste
2 ts oil
1/2 ts turmeric powder
1 ts chilli powder
1 ts of freshly ground pepper and cumin

For tempering
1/2 ts mustard
1/2 ts urad dal
1/4 ts hing
Few curry leaves
2 small red chilli

Preparation
  1. Add toor dal in cooker with enough water. Add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Allow enough whistles. Mash them well. If possible, put them in a blender once they are cool and give a few swirls of blend.
  2. Put them back in the cooker. Add zucchini and allow it to give one whistle. Let the cooker release air by itself.
  3. Meanwhile, take a kadai and add oil. Once its hot add, add the above said ingredients for tempering. Add the cooked dal and zucchini. Add coarsely ground pepper and cumin powder. They give a beautiful aroma to the dal.
This dal tastes awesome!
